Apologies received from delegates that could not
attend to the meeting.
- Carlos Brotons reads the minutes of the previous
meeting, last November in Barcelona.
- New delegates: a new delegate from Cyprus
(Valia Markou) has been incorporated into the
network.
- EUROPREV survey: it is finished and Pilar
Kloppe will present the final results at the
WONCA conference. A draft will be prepared and
circulated to all the delegates in order to
submit it for publication. It is suggested to
try to publish it in Family Practice.
- The proposal to EGPRW for sponsorship was
rejected, basically because the proposal did
not represent a new project. However EGPRW it
is willing to received research projects, and
they encourage us to try again with new ones,
or also, try to get some sponsorship from the
European Society of GP/FM. It is agreed to submit
a research proposal based on the development
of a cancer prevention guide. At the Conference
it is distributed a Spanish Guide for cancer
prevention (as well as a guide for prevention
of mental health disorders). This material can
be used as baseline to prepare the proposal.
In addition, it was agreed to prepare a proposal
to EGPRW for sponsorship. Different topics are
raised, and will be presented and discussed
at the next meeting of EUROPREV: Obesity (Dominique),
Tobacco (Leo), Cardiovascular Risk Estimation
(Ton and Carlos), Cancer (Ramon and Pilar),
and a Cardiovascular research project (Giorgio).
- EUROPREV funding (membership): so far, we
have received two membership registration from
two national colleges (Belgium and Malta). Again,
it is reinforced the idea of obtain as much
as national colleges memberships in order to
cover the expenses of EUROPREV (secretary, meetings,
printing material,..).
- It is mentioned the possibility to organise
an open scientific meeting of EUROPREV,
with a specific theme, in November 2003 in Barcelona.
A proposal of them will be circulated and discussed
at the next meeting of EUROPREV.
- Next meeting: the Spanish Society of Family
and Community Medicine is going to organise
the next National Congress in Madrid, November
20-23. The organisers have invited us to attend
the Congress and to organise our meeting there,
in November 22.
It is important that delegates send us as soon
as possible their confirmation in order to book
hotel accommodation. It is mentioned that it
would be important to send an official invitation
to all the delegates.
The meeting finishes at 19.30 minutes |
